Ten energetic 8 year olds...

spent the night last night. They were all on Clay's all-star baseball team. There were thirteen in all. One was a no show, two couldn't spend the night. I think they were excited to be together and just play.

They played wiffle ball, manhunt , and sharks & minnows. We had hot dogs, chips and oven baked smores! YUMMY! I don't think I'll ever make them on an open fire again. They settled into bed around 11:30 and were all asleep by 12:20.

They had a huge pillow fight this morning. Clay requested homemade donuts, bacon and chocolate milk for breakfast. They devoured breakfast in 2 minutes.

The last one left by 11:30. The only things left behind: a pair of stinky socks, shorts, a shirt and mess in the living room that took all of 5 minutes to straighten. Not BAD considering what could have happened.

I told the parents that this was the best sleepover I've ever hosted. I meant it. These kids were great! They listened, were polite and played hard without being out of hand. I truly enjoyed their stay. I would do it again. Hummmm, in a year or so!!!
