"Hey mom...

what is so special about the Secret Service if everyone knows about 'em?"

I love this question and all the others similar, that come from my sons. Luke asked me this question just a few moments ago. You know, from his understanding they aren't a secret. I explained that what they do is more of the secret than who they are.

This question spring boarded me into a discussion about christian service. In a way we are the secret service for God. People know we exist and even can point and say "she's a christian". But, they may not know all we do to serve God, and they shouldn't know. We discussed ways to serve people in our family, in our neighborhood, in our community and how we can serve 'in secret' and that it's a biblical principle. People are going to notice that something is different about us,or they may witness an act of service when we intend to be discreet (If you do something often enough or long enough you'll get caught.)

All acts of service can't be a secret, but the reason can, until someone asks, why do you do things like....? Then you can extol God's greatness to an open heart and ready ears.
