Livin' large...

in Texas that is! Wesley is in Texas on a four week vacation with my mother. He seems to be enjoying it a bit too much. He calls every other day or so to mention that he's been to Sonic, Ray's Drive Inn, Morales Mexican Food and Cafe Del Rio.
He's being treated like a king and getting the one-on-one he seems to need more than all the others. He's learned to eat a few new things (red, yellow and green bell peppers & something else??) My mom is always good about pushing the kids to try something new. Mom said he's been workin' hard. He washed and vacuumed her car, helped with yard work, baked a cake and brownies, he has helped with the house work. He's every woman's dream-- he enjoys shopping! They eat out almost everyday, go to the movie, the pool and who knows where else. I think he's getting a little homesick, but next weekend he gets to go to an Astros game. My aunt is getting them tickets. He'll be spoiled by two Great Aunt's (pronounced ant in Texas, and in NJ if you're from TX) and one Grammy. I'm sure he's not to sick to hang on for that. Then he'll be home the following weekend.

The breaks been good for all of us. He acts out more than the rest of our boys. I think it's from feeling lost in the shuffle of four boys. He has the greatest need to stand out and be different. He wants so badly to be noticed and be the best at something. I hope one day he realizes that God made him VERY special and that he has BIG plans for him. He has so much on the ball and will do so much in life.

I haven't been in his bedroom but a handful of times since he's been gone. I'll have to go in the week before he comes home and clean his room. He always loves it when he comes home from camp and his room is spotless, decluttered and orderly.

I missed the past two Sundays with him snuggling up under my arm at church in the pew. I wondered if he would still do that when he gets back home? Will he be bigger? Will the growth that he's experienced be noticeable?

I hope he misses us too!
