"She doesn't love...

Jesus as much as I do," said my oldest son Zack, to me the other day when I teased him about a pretty girl on his cross country team.

Years ago I had a conversation with my sweet friend Mechelle about how her mother told her from a young age to be thinking about the things she would want in a husband. This was foreign to me and SO enlightening. It was late advice, I was already very happily married six years. I decided then that I would give my children the same advice. Supposing I had children. See, I really didn't understand why ANYONE would have children. It was not high on my priority list. Kinda' comical now don't you think? Who says God isn't funny?

Even before my boys ever talked about girls (they still aren't really into them) I suggested that one day when they date girls, the girls should "love Jesus as much as they do, if not more." I haven't said this to them for some time now. I was stunned when the first words out of Zack's mouth to shut me down from teasing him were my own words (of good advice I might add). SIDE NOTE: Zack and I have a great playful relationship of teasing. He wasn't at all offended by me teasing with him about a girl.

I knew then I had 'em. I said to myself "keep preachin' sister. They W-I-L-L hear you. They may not follow the advice, but they are hearing me!" I have to preach while they are my captive audience. I'm sure I started my rhetoric too early. But I...know... now...they...hear me!

To all those mom's out there. Advertisement is important! Look at the millions of dollars companies spend on advertisement each day. We can advertise to our children for free!

The POWER OF SUGGESTION...is a beautiful thing.

LOVE IT! I love your family, Andrea. I have started talking to Maggie about her future and how she can imagine it. What a gift Z gave you and what a gift he will be to a very blessed young woman (family) someday. You, Chuck, and God are doing a great job.

AMEN, Sister Girl! AMEN....

To think, companies spend millions on advertising and we can do it all day and get across the message God wants, not what the world wants. You and yours are so very dear to me.

There's just something special about the mother/son bond...not better, just different( as often stated by Jerry and Lynn Jones!) Zach is a sweetheart and it's going to be hard for me to resist pinching him on the cheek next time I see him!!!

Love,
Annette
