Gratituesday was created by Laura, a sister in Christ and mom of four boys. I met Laura (on-line only) through a friend from church, Patti whose encouraging blog is Momstransformed.
You can visit Laura at Heavenly Homemakers. Join in Gratituesday by clicking on the link to find out how.
I love Laura's idea for Gratituesday. Mostly because it's my personality to find the negative in a situation, and become discouraged by it. This is a very real struggle for me! It's a bit embarrassing to admit, but maybe it will help someone who also struggles.
I am aware how satan uses this negativity against me. Over the years I've learned that with prayer, and making changes in my friendships I'm not as focused on the negative. After all, there is so much to be grateful for, why should I waste time on the negative?
Today I'm grateful for my families health, my husband's job, and a body of believers to worship alongside who are Christ centered and servant hearted.
~Health can be gone or declining in an instant. I often take it for granted. I'm grateful that we only have the minor aches and pains nothing serious to deal with.
~A job can also be gone or declining in an instant. Chuck and I took for granted for years the jobs God had blessed him with. The last year and half have been 'dry' months. He has a new job and we have a new appreciation for how God provides in 'dry' times.
~Believers who are Christ centered, and doing all they can to serve one another and reaching out to strangers, can too be gone or declining in an instant. Since we have been worshipping at Pitman we haven't taken for granted what God has shared with us through this body of believers. We are encouraged daily to have a stronger faith and deeper personal relationship with Christ. There is definitely a continual transformation taking place.
The song "Who am I?" by Casting Crowns, reminds me that my soul matters to the Lord, who is forever. What I have here on earth is "like a flower quickly fading, here today and gone tomorrow, a wave tossed in the ocean, a vapor in the wind." Health, job, and a body of believers all matter to the Lord and he's told me who I am! I'm grateful!

I'm so glad you joined us for Gratituesday! You are so right, it's easy to take for granted our health and our jobs. We too have been experiencing a "dry spell" the past year...or more of a transition time. I am so thankful for the work my husband has and for how God always provides for us. We have EVERYTHING we need!
