intolerance is Luke's latest, self diagnosed, ailment.
He's a hypochondriac. He takes after my maternal grandmother (may she Rest In Peace, she died about 4 years ago at 87ish yrs. old, something was FINALLY REALLY wrong with her.)
Last week Luke was legitimately sick. Then on Sunday morning he and Chuck came to me and said "look at this rash, what is it?" Sure enough he had a legitimate rash too. I put cream on it and within an hour it was gone. But, it returned Sunday night and was still there this morning. Luke announced at breakfast that he figured out what was causing the rash, (by nature Luke is a troubleshooter):
Luke: "I think I know what's causing my rash. It's black toast intolerance" he said matter-of-factly.
Me: "What?" (not sure I heard him correctly, my ears are still a little stopped from my cold)
Luke: "Ya know, black toast intolerance, like you thought Clay had last year. I think I'll only drink chocolate milk from now on."
Me: "Ha, Ha, Ha!!!" (I couldn't hold my laughter in! Mind you I was peeing my pants, remember I'm over 40 and have given birth 4 times, and almost spitting in his face at the same time.)
It was one of those moments I just had to share with someone. My only choice at the time, another child. I told Wesley, he laughed, but not nearly as much as I did. What a waste of good humor.
I didn't have the heart to assure him that although he may be black toast intolerant, it isn't what ails him now. Furthermore, he's been drinking white milk by the glass-ful since he was one year old, with NO problems. Therefore, LACTOSE intolerance is not his issue either.
I'm not sure what chocolate milk has to do with it all???
More cream, a dose of allergy medicine, and off to school you go...Happy milk drinking and black toast eating.
HA, HA, HA...I'm still laughing...black toast intolerant....What will he come up with next?
