Wesley came home from Texas a new boy, sort of! He still can't seem to get along with Clay. What has changed is the fact that my mom helped him to find purpose. As a parent I would like to believe I can be all things at all times to my children. The fact is, I'm not. Other's enrich my children's lives in ways I can't, what a blessing!
Wesley has always been a worker. If you give him a task to do he does it and enjoys doing it. The key to keeping him out of trouble is to keep him active.
My mom helped him to develop this skill further. There wasn't a time this week that I had to ask for help. Wesley was there even before I had to beck and call. If he saw a need he tended to it. If he didn't see need but I was working he asked what he could do to help. He vacuumed, swept, cooked a delicious brisket for us (his uncle taught him how), carried things and the list goes on and on... I hated to let him go to Camp Manatawny this week because he was such a help.
There are so many projects around the house that need to be done and they will be more fun to do now that I have Wesley. I usually procrastinate because the kids fight and give me a hard time. Now I have a little partner to make it so much more enjoyable. We'll leave the rest of them to their own devices and enjoy each other's company.
Thanks Wesley for all your hard work, positive attitude, and delicious meal of brisket, salad, cream style corn, mashed potatoes, bread and pie.
