who you say?
The youngest three Olley boys! Today they were a threat on the field. We started the day off with a 6 year old coach pitch game (almost as exciting as watching grass grow). The one exciting play off the game was a fly ball Luke caught playing second base. Way to go Luke. I guess playing baseball with your big brothers is a good thing. Luke plays feel good ball, so everyone wins! Yippee!
Clay and Wesley had simultaneous games a football field apart. Chuck stayed and watched Wesley's game and I watched Clay's. We would give the play-by-play via cell phone. We switched fields half way through the games.
Clay hit three singles, and caught infield balls with wings. He caught one as third baseman and one a diving catch as shortstop. The second one was the last out of the game. Way to hang tough Clay! His team won by one run.
Wesley had a banner game. He had two doubles (one was just a few feet shy of a homer), and a single. He tagged out his friend at home plate, and while playing center field he caught a fly ball in a diving catch. You got the job done today Wild Thing! Wesley's team lost, because a lightening storm rolled in midway the 5th inning and they were down by two runs. Each of the other innings they came from behind to tie the game or go ahead a few runs.
It was a fun day at the field.
Ice Cream for EVERYONE!
