Take me out to ball game...

Clay tried out for the all-star baseball team several weeks ago. We found out on Saturday that he was one of 13 who made the team. He is so excited to be following in his big brothers footsteps! Wesley played last year and tried out this year, but opted out to go to Texas for a month this summer.

Tonight we turned in proof of age and tried on uniforms. He was excited to meet his team mates and coach. I can't wait to see how he improves under this coach, while playing alongside other solid players. I'm anticipating it being a lot of fun! There are several nice families that will be a pleasure to cheer with as we watch our boys.

I'm preparing for the long days in the hot summer sun by shopping for a new chair with an attached umbrella. Last year I got too much sun, burnt my skin and fried my hair. I'm stocking up on water, snacks and Gatorade, must haves for any traveling baseball mom with siblings in tow.

I love kids sports! They have so much heart and play for the pure enjoyment of it. NO ONE is getting a big paycheck at the end of the week.

I guess 4th of July will find us standing on the side of the road watching our all-star and his team marching in our towns parade. Maybe will finish the day off with a professional game at Citizens Bank Park, and some peanuts and Cracker Jacks!
