There are things I know I know, and things I know I don't know...

... and there are things I don't know I don't know.

Some years ago I learned from a college professor that we often go through life thinking we know a great deal. But in reality we know we don't know everything, we know we know some things, but few bother to understand that we don't know that we don't know things.

You can know the name of a bird in all the languages of the world, but when you're finished, you'll know absolutely nothing whatever about the bird... So let's look at the bird and see what it's doing -- that's what counts. I learned very early the difference between knowing the name of something and knowing something. Richard Feynman (1918 - 1988)

I learned a valuable lesson about judging, hypocrisy, arrogance and ignorance, 'foul' human qualities, that have created problems in societies around the world, since the begining of time. The lesson I learned was a hard lesson because it caused pain, to others as well as myself; the pain I caused to others bothered me most. If you remember my Maya Angelou post not to long ago I mentioned that I try to live life not offending and trying not to be offended. I failed at my own belief in that principle this week.

I've heard it said that we learn more from pain than from pleasure. I hope that's true. I'm prayerful that the lessons from the 'foul' of humanity, will not escape my grasp, (after all my mother says "a bird in the hand is worth more than two in the bush") and that the lessons I've learned will change me not only for 'better, but for good.'

Besides, I prefer chicken to crow!

"For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart."

Hebrews 4:12

LOVE THE SONG!!!!! I so agree with you in your statement on this recent blog. "There are things I know I know, and things I know I don't know..." and to add to that I personally know less than I think I know and crave to know more :-D

Love ya
Tina

P.S. I've been changed because of you for the better!!!
