Set your heart on these things...

"Hope works in these ways: it looks for the good in people instead of harping on the worst; it discovers what can be done instead of grumbling about what cannot; it regards problems, large or small, as opportunities; it pushes ahead when it would be easy to quit; it ‘lights the candle’ instead of ‘cursing the darkness’."

I struggle with negativity. I know it's satan's playground in my mind. When I checked my e-mail at work today I received the above quote from one of our administrators. What a way to start the new year! Full of positive hope. It reminds me of this passage "Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable--if anything is excellent or praiseworthy--think about such things." Philippians 4:8

Thank you Lord for reminding me that 2008 will be full of spiritual battles with satan, yet I know, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Philippians 3:18.
