My youngest two boys have a cub scout pack meeting at a local church on Tuesday nights. On the same night we are there, they sponsor a local alcoholics anonymous meeting. When we arrive there are only about 15 cars in the parking lot, but when we leave the lot is full, must be 75-100 cars. We've gone to this scout meeting for years and passed many of these people in the halls and I've noticed the numbers of people in attendance. What struck me tonight was an overwhelming feeling of compassion for people who are trying to make a positive difference in their lives. I know from others who have been gripped by alcohol, and tried (some successful, some not yet) to over come it, what a hard thing it is to do. My belief is that it isn't alcohol they are fighting, it's a tool satan has used to enslave them. I am encouraged by the many faces I see who are willing to take on this battle with satan. What a great example they are to the rest of us who have our own battles to fight.
