There's something about death (and moving), that brings people to tell you how much you mean to them. I've had two neighbors shed tears over the fact that we are trying to sell our home. One in particular really surprised me. You never know how much you mean to someone until they are gone...or slipping away! Tell an unsuspecting someone what they mean to you, before it's (almost) too late.
Clay came home from school on Wednesday and told me that a friend of his is being sent to another school. In our district that means one of two things, his family moved, or the child was classified with a difference and they are being sent to a classroom that would facilitate that help. I know Clay liked this boy very much. He spoke of him frequently.
This morning, early, Clay came into my room, with his lower lip quivering and said "Mom, do you have a box?" "What do you need a box for Clay?" "I want to buy Nick some candy at Wawa and send it to his new school." My heart broke for him. He and I cried together. He didn't like showing the emotion, I think it startled him that he was overwhelmed by Nick leaving. He wrote him a letter and drew him a picture. Tonight we'll bake cookies...to send in a box.
Tell an unsuspecting someone what they mean to you, before it's (almost) too late.

So, I admit it's been a few days since I've read you blog, and I rarely make comments, but now you've got me. You are going to have to dish! Love you!
Thanks to Clay, I will now look at a Wawa very differently. I will think of him and wanting to get candy in a box for his friend. What a compassionate Christ-like heart. Clay you are an example for all of us.
love you guys!!
