Maya says...

One of my favorite quotes comes from Maya Angelou. I'm not sure it was her's first, but she is who I heard it from first.

"I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel."

This speaks to me on so many levels. I know I've said, done ect... things to hurt people and make them feel terrible. I know I've said done ect... things to make people feel good. I too have been the recipient of both feelings. Ah, how I wish I had been wise enough to not make someone feel bad and wise enough to make each person I come in contact with feel good.

I encourage each of you to try not to allow yourself be offended, as much as you try not to offend. I think if we all lived our lives not allowing ourselves to be offended then we might not offend so many.

I have been offended by someone and I'm trying to forgive but it is a real struggle. Had I used my own advise years ago I might not be struggling with it.

Remember..."people NEVER forget how you made them feel."

Amen! Thank you for sharing that statement. It is such a true statement and reminds me of how others view us. We are, for most people, the only "Jesus" that they will see. However we represent Him, shows to others. I plan to be more aware of my actions and reactions to others. Great thoughts, keep 'em coming.
