Why should children be the only ones with imaginary friends?
Today Aunt Mirelda made her first appearance at our home. Luke was calling for me, but found Aunt Mirelda in the laundry room instead. Mirelda is my identical twin. We look alike, sound alike, and even attend the same college. Aunt Mirelda is my 'evil' twin. At least that's what she told the boys. They found her to be funny, nice and stern. So different from me! The reaction to Mirelda has been fun. Initially the kids tried to disclaim her presence, and would beg her to stop pretending. They became ANNOYED with her for claiming to be someone she isn't. Mirelda held her ground. When she was intoduced to Clay, Luke who had previously met her played along like a pro. He really liked the fact that he knew her first and was in on the ruse. The boys never know when Aunt Mirelda might show up. She'll bring comic relief to the everyday life of a family in a rut.
