Christmas anything...

before Thanksgiving makes me cranky!!! I respect that a man needs to make a living, but why, oh why must retailers push holidays earlier and earlier each year? Pretty soon I'll be able to buy Christmas in July.

Truth be known Christmas in general makes me cranky. It's my least favorite holiday. I like the parties, decorations, cookies, and cards/letters but, I hate the gift buying and giving. Don't get me wrong, I love giving gifts! I prefer to give a gift because I found something the person liked, or as a token of appreciation, these can be given at any time of year. To have to buy gifts and give them because it is 'tis the season' turns me into a Scrooge. There's so much hubbub for one day. I love Thanksgiving, it's simple!

Bah Hum Bug!!!

I guess I'll pull out my Christmas cookie recipes so I can have something to look forward to as we approach 'tis the season'. Look for my Christmas cookie list coming soon. I'll share a few favorite recipes too.

I'm right there with you! I agree with your idea of when you like to give gifts.

I love Jesus' birth story, I love filling my house with friends and family. The whole "let's start decorating in September" thing makes me insane. I think that stores should have to wait until the day before Thanksgiving to put anything Christmas up. That way, those of us sane people who don't go near a storefront on black Friday won't have to see it.

PS: You know I love your cookies, though. You might want to get started a bit early on them. Ha!

PPS: You know my favorite holiday is Thanksgiving, too. I get to spend it at the home of a family very dear to my heart and plan to do so until they stop inviting me! Event hen I'll probably sit in the garage and fight for sraps with Skipper....

AMEN!!!!

AFTER THANKSGIVING, lets do an online cookie exchange!

I have so many wonderful memories of Thanksgiving growing up and I hope that my boys will share my love for Thanksgiving over Christmas only because it's about people and not things. I've even thought about sending my yearly card, picture, and letter during the Thanksgiving season. We'll see.

K,

I'm all for a cookie exchange. I try to make it to Donna L. from church for her cookie exchange. It's always a great time.

But, I still end up baking all the kinds of cookies on my list because I want certain ones.

Lets do it! I'm in for the fun of it.

Sorry, Andrea! Christmas has already started early for you. I just saw where you were the winner of the drawing on Heavenly Homemakers. Congrats and Merry Christmas!

I know Patti, I'm so excited about it. I've looked at her journals several times, but not wanting to spend money I put it in the back of my mind as "one day". Yippie for me!!
