Very few things get me in the Christmas spirit. I bet you can't guess what one of them is? I'll spare you the suspence. One is snow, the other is a holiday fete. We have several holiday fete's coming up, but for now I am thrilled to receive three inches of snow, and... it's early Dec. We've had so many years when we didn't see so much as a flake (present company excluded) until Jan. or Feb.
I must be the coolest mom around! It's a little before 10:00pm and my boys(on a school night) are out playing in the snow. I worked today, did an observation, went to class and then picked the boys up at 5:45 and off to church we went. They didn't have any time to frolic in the frozen crystals. So, should social workers show up at my house and take my children...I'll enjoy the vacation, bake cookies in peace, shop without guilt and watch Survivor without interruption!
Only kidding!
I suppose I should call the little snow angels in and put them to bed... Goodnight!

Andrea, I don't miss the snow. Actually I don't mind looking at it from the window but I do hate being out in it and having to shovel it. It's 61 this morning heading to almost 80. Letting your guys play out in the snow past bedtime?! What's the number for DYFS? Enjoy your holiday.
Andrea, you are a mother after my own heart!
God gives us gifts to awe us; and unless we take the time (whenever they are given to us) to wonder, ponder and experience them, we miss those opportunities God provides for our souls to be filled with His love for us. It is no wonder why your family is so special! I love you for sharing the gifts of our Father in Heaven with your family! Love, Noreen
How wonderful!!! Good for you and the boys DO know that they have the coolest mom :-D You're seeing those "moments" and taking advantage of them even with such a full daily schedule. You're makin' wonderful memories. I personally LOVE the snow when it is only on the lawn, shrub and trees, rather than ice and slush on the roads and walkways. My favorite is during the Christmas season and then it could not snow again until the next Christmas season. There is a beauty in the flakes and thanks for showing me how beautiful the seasons are.
