Today our oldest son Zachary is twelve. I can't believe where the time has gone! In another twelve years he will (Lord willing) be out of college and well on his way in life serving God through his career or further education. A little more than eleven years ago Zachary took his first steps at Camp Manatawny. It was under the big trees next to the picnic tables in front of what was then the Rec Hall. It was so exciting! Pat Bliss even bought him a new red ball at Wal-mart to celebrate. First steps were taken again this past week by our second son Wesley. He was baptized into Christ in the camp pool August 11th, 2007 around 11:30am by Chuck (his dad). He had been talking about it for some time, asking questions, studying and taking it all in. The Lord's word convicted him at camp during Intermediate II week. We received a call on Friday night at 9:00pm that he had gone to one of the directors and wanted to be baptized. The day Wesley's camp week was over Clay's camp week was to begin and all of us were staying at camp. I worked in the Kitchen, Wesley and Zach worked in the dining hall. Clay was a camper and Luke a pre-camper. On Friday afternoon Zachary came to me and said "mom, I want to be baptized!" On Sunday morning Chuck baptized him at our home congregation. Zachary was born into the world on a Sunday and born into Christ twelve years later on a Sunday. What a great week! Peace that passes all understanding is to know I have two new brothers in Christ that are so special to me.

Praise God!!! My heart is filled with happiness and my eyes are filled with joyful tears for Wesley and Zachary. Your example of living for HIM only reinforced Wesley and Zachary's desire to do the same. I too remember the first step and the red ball as a gift. Seeing your own child being baptized is one of the most humbling, pridefilled and joyous moment in a parents' life.
Love,
Tina
Wanted you to have the only blog site that I am journaling on. You have the old link on your site. Again, we're thrilled for the wonderful "births" you had this week!!!

I have been meaning to comment on this post for over a week now. I am so proud of both Zack and Wesley. It is so awesome to know I will spend eternity with my little brothers - Shawn and I both want them to know that no matter where we all are in our lives, they can always come to us for anything. You and Chuck living your lives out loud is a great example to not only your boys, but to everyone around you! We love you guys!
Amen! Me too!
