Ready or not here it comes, football season. All four boys signed up to play football this year. I think it's really in reaction to a professional football player that we worship with at church. Wesley is in awe of this player and the player has really made a point to encourage Wesley in whatever sport he's in during any given season.
Inspite of a professional amoungst us, I had my guesses as to who would really "huddle up" when it came down to it. I figured a full week of work- outs and at least one would quit. I was wrong. Two full days and one fell. Zachary the oldest HATED it and knew it after just two days. My husband really wanted him to stick it out the whole season because of his choice to sign up. My point is, the burden falls on me to push, pull and drag him to practice and games. It was really a relief to have him quit. It's tough to know when to let them quit verses teaching them about commitment. There are opportunities to teach commitment and opportunities to teach grace. In this situation he tried it, hated it, and we chose grace over commitment. I'm okay with that! 16, 42, Hike

I thank you God, for these wise parents who are using your righteousness, love and grace to raise their four sons! Their example will help others to raise up male spiritual leaders too.
