I was standing in the Sugar Hill sub shop with my family waiting for our order. When I'm waiting someplace my eyes scan the walls for things to read. I read a small plaque that drew me in with each word. The sequence of words wasn't unfamiliar, as a matter of fact I was certain I'd read the plaque before, someplace else (this was my first trip to Sugar Hill, NOT my last though. YUM-E). On that particular day the words struck me. Why they didn't reach me before, like they did this time escapes me. On occasion I have that experience when reading my Bible. All of the sudden I read a verse and BAM! When did that verse show up? As I've matured I've learned that it was God's timing in teaching me a lesson at a particular moment. I know I've read verses, but on any given day it comes to life, differently, deeper. This is true of the ABC's of life. They began working on me instantly. I wanted to breathe in the words, as if breathing them in could change me instantly. I knew some would require hard work, because I struggle with them regularly. I hope you enjoy them as much as I have:
Accept differences
Be kind
Count your blessings
Dream; Express thanks
Forgive; Give freely
Harm no one
Imagine more
Jettison anger
Keep confidences
Love truly
Master something
Nurture hope
Open your mind
Pack lightly
Quell rumors
Reciprocate
Seek wisdom
Touch hearts
Understand
Value truth
Win graciously
Xeriscape
Yearn for peace
Zealously support a worthy cause.
As I stood there and reading it came to mind that each can be backed by God's word. Each is a biblical principle. Several scriptures came to mind, but alas I was standing in a busy little shop with NO paper. My appetite was whet for more than just the Buffalo Chicken cheesesteak I'd ordered. I was hungry to get started on a scripture hunt for each idea. I'm in the process of matching each with a verse. It's a lot of fun. I must admit I'm getting side tracked as I read. What problem to have, huh? This has jump started my Bible study for the year in a big and exciting way.
A few days after I read the ABC's I shared them as my Facebook status. It received a great response. Many asked to use it for their status. One friend even wrote it on "the board" at work for hundreds to see. He's written scriptures on "the board" that I've posted as my FB status. I find that to be awesome. Not because I did it. Unless a friend requests a quote or scripture, I usually let the spirit lead me. Almost always someone says "just what I needed".
I know by now that I shouldn't be amazed at The King's creative avenues to reach people, but I am. He uses plaques on sub shop walls, he uses Facebook, and he uses ME. I'm honored to be an heir to The King.

I too have posted it on my blog! I love when God speaks to me in the manner that He spoke to you. It is in such a pure, unexpect, yet most memorable way. We serve an awesome God. Love U
