anyway? We went to see a movie the other day that was rated PG. I was so surprised and annoyed by the sexual innuendo and language. Today, we went to see another PG movie that didn't have ONE bad word or any inappropriate sexual content. Whose rating these movies? Apparently not mothers with young impressionable boys and girls.
Surely there are standards? Everything has standards these days. Even standards have standards. It's the uptight society we've created.
We're trying to be more casual in someways (I'm thinking 'morals' at the moment), yet in other ways we have more rules than ever before. We are effectively creating a paranoid society by allowing "anything goes" "until it makes someone uncomfortable or steps on their political toes." So... we create laws and sanctions to keep everyone politically correct. BAAAAloney!
I say, "Let little boys play cowboys and Indians with plastic molded guns, free from fear of being hunted down by a political group. What happened to a time when kids feared someones momma coming at them with a wagging finger because they didn't allow her little Johnny play the 'good cowboy'? Who fears a mom now? Kids have to worry that the school resource officer will shake them down for using their finger to poke, in earnest fun, a friend, you know, someone they have a reciprocal and genuine friendship with."
I see inconsistent PG movie ratings and paranoid societies as signs for something bigger, uglier and scarier.
Every GREAT nation falls. Check out history...I think our Great Nation is closer to falling than we realize. The state of our economy is only one facet of the historically inevitable fall. Is the inconsistent rating process of movies another facet? Well-- maybe that's a tad extreme, but... maybe not?
I love the United States of America. I am concerned that my children won't be able to hold the same pride for it in their hearts. So, I'm teaching them to have pride in their heritage as children of The King, who never forsakes His people and is consistent among other qualities!!
Deuteronomy 31:8
"The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged."
Isaiah 43:1b "I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by name Thou art mine."
If you can't find any trace of my blog tomorrow, someone out there didn't agree with our nations constitutional right of "freedom of press."
