R U "@ risk" or "@ promise"...?

While talking with someone recently they expressed how they believe they can look around a room of young people (who they have come to know and have an on going relationship with) and say "not going to make it", "going to make it", "going to make it", "not going to make it", spiritually. In that moment it didn't set well with me. I'm not good at thinking on my feet and coming back with an educated response that is spirit lead (one of my great disappointments in myself). I am a plodder, I think about things and rethink things. Now I've had time to think about the whole concept. I'm frustrated that I didn't have these words during the conversation.
What a huge disservice to God when we view those he created in terms of "going to make it" or "not going to make it". I'm sure I have done it and convenietly can't recall a situation at this moment (don't you love how your memory fails when it serves YOU best?)
I am beyond words with gratitude for anyone who saw me as one deserving of prayers (thankgiving for my life or intercessionary for my needs), or one worthy of befriending (because they needed a friend or I needed a friend), to insure that we both "made it."

I suppose this idea hurts me because I have seen myself at times as "not going to make it", and because I'm a parent who refuses to see my children any way except "going to make it." My children are diverse, with strengths and weaknesses, with hopes, battles to fight, each child worthy of prayer (thanksgiving for their life or intercessionary for their needs) and each worthy of befriending (because you need friendship or they do), and MOST importantly each has a soul.

Your challenge:
I encourage you to find a person that is (what is often called in education) "at risk", and see them as "at promise." Pray for them, befriend them, guide them. Each of us is "at risk" to satan's traps, and "at promise" because of we are loved by God. I KNOW the Lord I love and serve sees us all "AT PROMISE", or he wouldn't have given HIS son to die for us.

I don't believe the person I mentioned early on in this post looks truly judges people as was stated in our conversation. I think it was more a matter of thoughts not completed in our conversation and even additional thoughts not expressed. I would be taking their statement 'out of context' if I didn't mention that. I know this person has a heart for the lost and those "at promise". I would be surprised if I were told they don't pray, by name for those they are in contact with. I know for a fact they befriend many; I am a recipient of that friendship (they need it and boy, so do I.)

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." ~ Jer 29:11 (NIV)

"Drop down, ye heavens, from above, and let the skies pour down righteousness: let the earth open, and let them bring forth salvation, and let righteousness spring up together; I the LORD have created it." ~ Isaiah 45:8
