I suppose many parents hope for brilliance in their children. I'm no exception. I'm certain at various times my children are brilliant (even if their IQ's don't hit the MENSA 140+ range.)
Two weeks ago I made chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast. One of the boys wanted another pancake. Luke had one on his plate that he hadn't eaten. He said "You can have my pancake I only made a 'nidge' in it with my fork." Right in the middle of the pancake he had burrowed a very tiny hole with his fork. It was just a 'nidge'. I loved it! I chuckled to myself and then asked him to repeat it. We've made 'nidge' a regular part of our family vocabulary. Feel free to use it too.
"Some measure brilliance by IQ tests. A mother doesn't need a test to measure brilliance."
